Carbon Aerogel Based Waterborne Ultra-Black Coatings with High Light Absorption

In this paper, we wish to report the preparation of ultra-black films via spraying coatings composed waterborne binders and low-cost carbon aerogels on pre-treated tinplate. The CAs were prepared by annealing resorcinol-formaldehyde resin (RF resin) following CO2 activation, which reflectance was less than 0.4% in a wide wavelength range. different coatings, using as functional pigments, ranged from 1.8% 4.3% visible light region (400?760 nm), while it 1.9% 4.2% near-infrared (760–1100 nm). Further studies revealed relationship between pigment-to-binder ratio found best be 0.96, minimum reflection 1.8%. Outstanding adhesion tinplate substrate also achieved two-component polyurethane binder after thermal cycling test carried out ?100 °C 100 °C. fabrication process is particularly convenient remove constraints high costs complex processes, making instructive guidance for industrial production.
